GlobalRoute vs. Traditional Apps
Freedom from Phone Numbers (identity is based on the internet, rather than a SIM card)
- Traditional Apps: Your account is strictly tied to your physical SIM card and phone number. You must know another person's number to connect with them.
- GlobalRoute: Your identity is a web address (for example,
globalroute.me/you). You simply share your personal link, QR code, or social media bio reference. People can reach you directly over the internet without anyone needing to know another person's phone number or share their contact list.
Pure P2P (Peer-to-Peer) and Browser-Based Architecture
GlobalRoute: Built directly on WebRTC technology. When a call or video connection is established, real-time data exchange happens directly between the two users' browsers whenever possible (peer-to-peer), without any third party sitting in the middle or processing your data.
No Downloads or Account Creation Required
GlobalRoute: It is a PWA (Progressive Web App) – a web-based application. A person simply clicks your link (globalroute.me/yourname), and a high-definition audio call, video call, or message opens directly in the browser within seconds, without visiting any app store or downloading any apps.
Protocol: PROPRIETARY vs. PUBLIC (WebRTC / Standards)
GlobalRoute: Uses open web standards (WebRTC for voice/video calls and WebSockets / Socket.io for signaling). These are built-in standards of any modern web browser that require no separate software.
Communication Channel: Centralized Servers vs. Direct P2P (Peer-to-Peer)
GlobalRoute: Built on the WebRTC principle, which strives to establish a direct connection (P2P) between two browsers over the internet, without data having to pass through a third party's server in the meantime.

GlobalRoute: An open web-based protocol (PWA) that brings communication services directly into the browser, turning every web address into an independent communication channel.
PWA browser support
You can open any name card in a modern browser — no app store required. Installing as a PWA (Add to Home Screen / Install) is optional and mainly helps with a standalone window and push alerts when the tab is closed.
GlobalRoute is online-first: calls and messaging need a network connection.
